Description
The parish Church of San Lorenzo, in Poggiodomo, which is currently off the main roads, bears witness to the presence of an important traffic axis of the mountain which passed close to the current church.
They are probably ancient paths, which continued to be travelled for centuries by herds driven towards the Roman countryside by wool and livestock merchants who moved through this territory, from the fairs of Norcia, Lanciano, L’Aquila, to the markets of northern Umbria, Piceno, Tuscany and the Adriatic ports.
The presence of a holy water font outside the church is unusual.
